A few months ago I got the chance to work on “The Misfits Club” (El Club de los Incomprendidos) a Spanish film directed by Carlos Sedes, based on the bestselling trilogy novel by Francisco de Paula Fernandez (aka Blue Jeans).
These books have millions of fans in the Spanish speaking world on both sides of the Atlantic.

Specifically, I was in charge of animating a bird that appears in three shots throughout the film. He symbolises the love the young protagonists feel for each other.
In the first shot, I had to figure out the staging, and opted for the bird to land on a window twig which we modelled and rigged in Maya.
The second shot was a little bit trickier. Once again I had carte blanche to decide spacing, acting and timing. I finally came up with the idea to let him rest on the edge of the balcony instead of making him fly off right away. That way we had a little bit more time to wait until the camera was close enough to capture his takeoff.
The logo at the end was added in 2D by the design team.
